From March through July of 2024, a Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND) outreach team of three to five members (most with houseless experience) conducted surveys and interviews at four Denver hotel shelter sites. 175 survey and 60 interviews were conducted and respondents were given $15 gift cards to thank them for their time.

Some of the largest takeaways from the survey data was a strong desire to be allowed guests into their residences (over 75%) and the need for improved transportation options. While most respondents believed they would eventually secure stable housing, most were also unsure or didn’t expect that the 90 day time limit would be long enough. The top non-housing priority for those surveyed was gaining employment.

Over 30% of respondents felt that their maintenance reports were not being completed in a timely manner.
